About Us

Welcome to Laser Hair Removal St. Petersburg

We are a physician-led aesthetics practice in St. Petersburg, Florida, where laser hair removal is performed as what it is: a medical procedure. Every treatment begins with a skin and hair assessment, and every setting is chosen for your skin tone, hair density, and treatment area.

We use a dual-wavelength platform that pairs 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG energy with integrated skin cooling. That combination lets us treat fine facial hair and coarse body hair, and treat lighter and deeper skin tones, comfortably and safely.

Most clients notice thinner, slower-growing hair within two to three sessions and lasting smoothness by the end of a full series. No waxing, no razor burn, no ingrown hairs.

Laser Hair Removal Questions, Answered

Still unsure? Book a complimentary consultation and we will walk you through your personal plan.

Most clients need 6 to 8 sessions spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart. Laser only affects hair in its active growth phase, and only about 15 to 20 percent of hair is in that phase at any time. Face and neck areas usually need more sessions than legs or underarms, and hormonal growth can require a few extra. Many St. Petersburg clients book their visits around work in Downtown St. Pete or along Central Avenue, and then schedule one maintenance visit a year afterward.

Most clients describe each pulse as a quick rubber-band snap followed by a brief warm sensation. Our platform cools the skin before and during every pulse, which makes treatment much more comfortable than older lasers, even in the Florida heat. Sensitive areas such as the upper lip and bikini line feel sharper, and we can adjust settings or apply topical numbing on request.

Yes, when the right laser is used. Our dual-wavelength system includes a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, which bypasses the pigment in the top layer of skin and targets the hair follicle, making it the safest choice for Fitzpatrick skin types IV to VI. St. Petersburg is a wonderfully diverse city, and we treat clients from Midtown to the Old Northeast. Every new client receives a skin assessment, and a patch test whenever there is any question. Laser works best on dark hair, so very light blond, red, white, or gray hair may respond poorly.

There is no downtime. Expect mild redness and small raised bumps around the follicles for a few hours up to two days, similar to a light sunburn feeling. You can head straight back to the office, your errands, or a stroll along the Pinellas Trail. Treated hair will shed over the next one to three weeks, which can look like new growth but is not.

Shave the treatment area 12 to 24 hours beforehand, and do not wax, pluck, or thread for 4 to 6 weeks before treatment, because the follicle must be intact. Avoid tanning and sun exposure for at least 2 weeks before and after, and tell us about any new medications or retinoids. Afterward, apply SPF 30 or higher daily, which matters all year in the Sunshine City, use gentle moisturizer, and skip hot showers, saunas, exfoliants, and strenuous workouts for 48 hours.

The FDA defines it as permanent hair reduction, meaning a lasting reduction in the number of hairs that regrow after a full series. Most clients see 70 to 90 percent fewer hairs, and any regrowth is finer and lighter. Because hormones can activate dormant follicles over time, an occasional touch-up session may be helpful. We will tell you honestly what to expect for your hair and skin at your consultation.

We welcome clients from all over St. Petersburg, including Downtown St. Pete, the Grand Central District, Old Northeast, Snell Isle, Crescent Lake, Historic Kenwood, Euclid-St. Paul's, Shore Acres, Lakewood Estates, and Pasadena. Many clients also come from Gulfport, South Pasadena, St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Clearwater, and Tampa, just across the bay. If you are unsure whether we are convenient for you, call us at (727) 513-0340.

Laser hair removal works year-round in Florida, but fall, winter, and early spring are ideal because skin has had less sun exposure. Starting in October or November lets you finish most of a series before beach season at St. Pete Beach, Pass-a-Grille, and Fort De Soto. You can also start in summer, as long as you stay out of direct sun on the treated areas and wear SPF every day.

A fresh tan raises the risk of burns and pigment changes, because the laser can target the extra pigment in your skin instead of only the hair follicle. If you have been out at the Gulf beaches, on Tampa Bay, or at Fort De Soto, we usually ask you to wait until the tan fades, often 2 to 4 weeks. We will check your skin at every visit and adjust the settings or reschedule if needed.

Wait 48 hours before swimming in the Gulf, a chlorinated pool, or a hot tub, and skip hot sand and strenuous activity during that time. After that, you can return to the water. Keep the treated areas covered or protected from direct sun for the first couple of weeks, and use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, including on cloudy St. Petersburg days.

We treat the face and upper lip, underarms, legs and bikini, back and chest, and full body. Underarms, legs, and bikini line are the most popular before beach days at St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and Fort De Soto, and before boating season on Tampa Bay. Your plan is built around your skin, hair type, and timeline, so mention any upcoming trip or event at your consultation.

Use the Request for Appointment button on this page or call (727) 513-0340. Your complimentary consultation covers your skin and hair type, the areas you want treated, and a realistic number of sessions. We will then help you choose a plan and schedule that fits your week, whether you live in St. Petersburg or are coming across the Howard Frankland, Gandy, or Sunshine Skyway bridges.
